The group is the brain child of Dutch couple Frans and Toke Verschuren, who, when they moved to the town, struggled at first to find much of the information they needed to establish them in their new life.

Previously, when they moved to a new country, they had always managed to find local groups to help them to settle in.

Now that they are established they want to devote some of their time to “Connect For Friendship”, a resource they hope will be useful for both existing residents and new arrivals.

The aim is to set up an International English speaking group helping newcomers and established people in the town of St Yrieix  la Perche and its surrounding villages.

It is hoped that local English speaking people will join us, enabling everyone to benefit from an exchange of language and culture.

The general "meetings" will take the form of a casual drop in for coffee and a chat and will be driven by "user demand".  From this a range of activities will be developed to cater for the varying and individual interests of the group.

So if you are new to the area or your experience could help others then feel free to come along. The key word is "Friendship" and everyone is welcome to pop in for a coffee and a chat.
